Darts to an End

Did you ever wonder if there was a connection between anarchy and darts? Me neither. But just as Mao Tse Tung during China's Cultural Revolution declared table tennis was the sport of the people, so anarchos in Leeds and Bradford latched on to the noble game of darts. It's cheap, doesn't take up much space and you can play it when you're completely plastered.
January sees the annual Darts to an End festival at Bradford's 1 in 12 Club and this radio feature for Under the Pavement captured last Saturday's event in all its raucous glory. With interviews with Steve "the Vegan Warrior" and Geoffrey Oicott guitarist Nogs "the Chester Chopper" I promise you'll be hooked. Enjoy.
